GUI OS on a Floppy Disk: Menuet

While teaching a PC hardware course a few weeks ago, I decided to use a bootable floppy OS for the practical exam. I came across several floppy disk OS's while searching Google - but this seemed to be the most promising. It's called MenuetOS. It was actually featured on The ScreenSavers on G4TechTV some time ago.

It is a really extraordinary example of what can be done with a "stripped down" operating system. It is written in assembly language, so the kernel can be recompiled to do most anything.

Download it and try it out:

>MenuetOS (0.76 beta)

Cheers!
