The Captain Has left Us

Yes, I am afraid that it is true. Bob Keeshan, better known as "Captain Kangaroo," has died at age 76.

I remember getting up very early on Saturday mornings to watch Captain Kangaroo - back when there was good television programming for children. For those who did not get the privilege of watching this special program - it was like Mr. Rogers but somewhat more hyper and adventurous.

We need you Mr. Green Jeans...

It Snowed 15 Days Too Late

We have snow in Greensboro, North Carolina! As you can see from the picture - it is not quite a blizzard, but we enjoy these occasional "storms" just the same! Just wish we had gotten it for Christmas!

By the way, Sarah and I had a wonderful Christmas. We received several very nice gifts, including a Google wrist watch (for me) and a new kitchen knife (for Sarah). The only thing we didn't get that we wish we had: 345 more days off for the holiday:)

Well I have to get my syllabus & course materials ready for UNCG - school starts there on Monday and I am behind!

But being behind, I can always find a way to procrastinate. I took this video of our dogs playing in the snow:
