New House...

Sarah and I bought a house today, (the same one we live in now). We had to go to an estate attorney for the closing (that's state law in North Carolina - if you didn't know). The whole process was not nearly as difficult as we thought. We also went with the State Employee's Credit Union, that may have made the process simpler - I don't know.

My brother-in-law sold us the house. He owned the home for nearly 14 years. He designs houses - so much of the look and feel of the house has been his imprint. He has done an excellent job (and continues to do so).

I am sure he feels somewhat "sad" to sell his old house, with so much effort put into it - but we will take care of it and assure that it keeps the "feel" that he has worked so hard to create.

Anyway, we're all happy:)

Working at 2am.....

Well, I am burning the midnight oil! I just finished preparing my online courses for a new term at ECPI. I usually don't push myself to completing things this late, but the new term starts in a few hours - and I was behind on preparing a new course that I am teaching, called "career orientation." Whew!

Moving my office to the workshop behind my house this weekend didn't help matters either. I had to move because my old office is "under construction" by my brother-in-law - in preparation of Sarah and I buying the house from him.

I like my new office - I will post some pictures as soon as I catch up on my rest!

Ever Bought a House:

Right now my wife and I are working through the stages of purchasing a house - the experience at times feels like we are going to a visit at the dentist:(

For the most part the process has been fairly straight forward. I only hope that we don't run into any problems (like when the house is appraised).

We are purchasing the house from my brother-in-law. Some folks might cringe at the thought of doing business with your family - but we have a very straight forward relationship with him (Sarah's family is pretty "straight" to begin with - they seem like they still live in the 1950's - which is a good thing).
